Better Late Than Never

Reality check: starting a blog is hard. My head has swirled with recipes to post, stories to share, and adventures to cover. That’s the easy part! Inspiration is plentiful, but writing down those ideas is a whole other beast, especially when you’re a one-woman shop (most of the time) baking, rolling, decorating, delivering, and hustling sweets all by your lonesome! It’s hard to find time beyond the kitchen, so I ended the year and some with nothing but blank pages. Actually, to be fair, this is the third blog post I’ve written. The first two were thwarted by website issues then became irrelevant. But today…today is the day.

I want you to get to know the baker behind these petite treats – what drives me, scares me, excites me, makes me laugh, makes me cry (spoiler alert: literally everything). I want to show you how to bring joy into your own kitchens with my favorite recipes – sweets, savories, and my personal comfort food: traditional Vietnamese meals. I want to invite you to explore my city on the rise – my favorite eateries, places to see, and things to do in San Antonio. I want you to join me on this journey – an adventure in entrepreneurship, starting a family, and (holy bananas) turning 30.

Four years ago, I launched Annie’s Petite Treats on Facebook. It was just a page to post photos of the few cake balls I did here and there for friends and family. I was still working a full-time job and could hardly call myself a baker. At that point, it was still a hobby, and I had no idea that this platform would alter the course of my life entirely. To everyone who has helped APT grow and flourish from the very beginning – every customer, friend, family, and fan who has inspired and motivated me – thank you from the bottom of my heart. I look forward to seeing what this year has in store for us. Tell me what you want to know and what you want to see on this blog. My world is yours, and I’m so excited to let you in. To get you excited for what the rest of this year has in store for us, here’s a fun recap of my 100 favorite sweets in 2015 in 15 seconds.
